The Arena 918 was built with the intent of promoting 3v3 basketball. In 3v3 basketball, players learn all the skills needed for 5 on 5 but without being confined to specific positions. The big draw for 3v3 basketball is that it allows more touches for each player. This should keep everyone much more engaged in wanting to learn more and excel at the game of basketball.
3v3 has long been popular in Europe and we are now seeing this event at the Olympics. We are seeing higher level players taking an interest in 3v3 as more leagues are being formed every year.
Our hope is that the Arena 918 and its focus on 3v3 helps promote basketball skills in the greater Tulsa area for all ages, and helps the younger players gain a better understanding of the game.
